The Sansthan conducted a workshop in pursuance of its objective of Empowerment of women. The Campus air was resplendent with the presence of a group of fifty girl students from Dayanand Women’s Training Institute, Dehradun.
These girls are doing the degree in Education from DWT and as per the mandate of NAAC students enrolled in B-ED degree have to undergo 20 hours of vocational training during their course. The Polytechnic conducted five-day workshop commencing from 22.04.24 in its Campus. The course was inaugurated on 22.04.2024 by the Principal Mrs. Namita Mamgain. The art forms taught were Aipan, Worli and Tie & Dye. The workshop was conducted by the Textile Department under the guidance of HOD Mrs. Jyoti Negi, Faculty member Mrs. Poonam Dhyani and Mr.U.M. Jaiswal. The duration of the workshop was 20 hours including both theory and practical mode .
Students showed great interest in learning the new skills and made beautiful sheets, folders and dupattas in Tie & Dye which were displayed on the final day. The workshop concluded on 26.04.24 in the presence of Vice Principal Mrs. Anupama Uniyal, faculty members of DWT Mrs. Chetna Thapa and Dr. Shobha & faculty of Textile department. The students shared their enriching experience during the closing ceremony and thanked the Polytechnic for this Training. The course was sponsored by Godambari Handlooms, Johri Gaon, Dehradun and coordinated by Mrs. Beena Raikwar.
