It was founded in 1987 by Mrs.Shobhana Wahi, wife of Col. S.P.Wahi, ex-chairman of ONGC. It was established under the aegis of Mahila Samiti,ONGC with a sole motive of the upliftment of women, especially hailing from the hills.

Ans: Admission in diploma courses for the polytechnic is made through JEEP (Joint Entrance Examination) conducted by UBTE Roorkee in the month of May every year.Application forms of JEEP are available by UBTE Roorkee during the period of January-February at all polytechnics. Candidates selected in the entrance exam are allotted institutes as well as course of their choice on the basis of the rank attained by them through online counselling.

Ans: The polytechnic offers hostel facilities in Dormitories system. Each dorm has a capacity of 15-20 girls. Each student is provided with a bed and a locker. The hostel fees includes boarding and lodging. There is a provision of a common room and other outdoor games as well.
