Virasat which literally translates to “Heritage.” It is one of the most fascinating and awaited festivals at Dehradun.The Virasat Art and Heritage Festival 2023, from 27 October to 10 November 23, provides a platform for people to experience the richness of art, culture, and music from renowned masters of classical music and dance. The festival features a diverse range of attractions, including a crafts village, cuisine stalls, an art fair, folk music, Bollywood-style performances, heritage walks, and more. This festival serves as an opportunity for people from across the country to gain deeper insights into India's rich cultural heritage and its significance. Every facet of the festival, including art exhibitions, musical performances, food, and heritage walks, reflects the traditional values associated with Indian heritage.
As always, this time also B.S. Negi MPPS participated in the festival and put their stall to display and sell the materials made by the students like paintings, fabric hand bags, aprons, Kurtis, kaftans, crochet made key chains, tohrans, diyas, decorative Puja thalis, wall hangings, hand printed sarees and suits.The dupattas were the main attraction of the stall. Our alumni also represented their work. Students also attended the workshops of paintings and mud clay etc. organised in Virasat.
