On 14th October 2025, the students of B.S. Negi (MPPS) .visited Virasat – The Heritage Festival as part
of an educational and cultural enrichment trip. The visit was initiated and encouraged by the Principal,
Mrs. Namita Mamgain, with the aim of providing students a deeper understanding of India’s diverse
cultural heritage, traditional art forms, and folk practices.
Accompanied by their teachers, students from all departments arrived at the Virasat venue in the
afternoon. The entire atmosphere was lively and colourful, with captivating folk music performances and
exhibitions that showcased rural crafts, handlooms, and traditional artworks from various regions across
the country.
Students eagerly explored the different stalls displaying handicrafts, tribal art, and regional cuisine. It was
a valuable learning experience, allowing them to witness firsthand the rich artistic traditions from different
states of India—many of which are directly connected to their academic curriculum.
Teachers encouraged active interaction with artisans and performers, helping students gain unique
insights into the skills, stories, and cultures that shape India's artistic landscape. This engagement not only
enhanced their learning but also fostered a greater appreciation for the country's cultural diversity.
The trip concluded with students feeling inspired and more connected to their cultural roots. It was truly a
memorable and enriching experience that successfully blended education with enjoyment, leaving a lasting
impression and a deeper respect for India’s vibrant heritage.
