STRESS MANAGEMENT SESSIONS FOR HOSTEL STUDENTS OF B.S. NEGI MPPS on 18-09-2025
In an effort to support the emotional well-being and overall mental health of students, B.S. Negi (MPPS)
organized Stress Management Sessions for its hostel students.
The weekly sessions were led by Ms. Amogha Agarwal, a certified counselling psychologist and the
founder of ALPAS, a mental health platform dedicated to promoting awareness through workshops and
digital initiatives. Her expertise and engaging approach created a safe and welcoming environment for the
students.
The initiative was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, Mrs. Namita Mamgain, who emphasized
the importance of nurturing students' mental health alongside their academic growth.
During the sessions, students were introduced to practical stress-relief techniques such as deep breathing
exercises, mindfulness, time management, and positive self-talk. Ms. Agarwal identified 15-20
students and facilitated interactive activities and open discussions that encouraged students to share their
thoughts and experiences, helping them feel heard and supported.
The sessions were particularly beneficial for hostel students who often face unique challenges such as
academic pressure, homesickness, and adjustment to communal living. Ms. Agarwal’s empathetic guidance
helped students understand the importance of mental well-being and how to manage stress in healthy,
constructive ways.
The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed feeling more relaxed, confident,
and better prepared to handle emotional and academic pressures. They also appreciated learning
techniques they could apply in their daily routines.
The session concluded with a reminder that seeking help is a sign of strength and that mental health should
be prioritized just like physical health. Overall, the sessions were meaningful and impactful initiative that
left a lasting impression on the students.
