REPORT ON INDUSTRIAL VISIT/PICNIC ORGANIZED FOR TEXTILE DESIGN DEPARTMENT ON

The combined industrial tour and picnic was organized for students with the aim of providing a holistic learning experience that catered to both educational and recreational needs. The initiative successfully exposed students to real-world industrial operations while also offering them an opportunity for relaxation, socialization, and team-building. The students of textile design Department went on an educational industrial visit to UCSF (Uttarakhand Cooperative Resham Federation (UCRF) located in selakui Dehradun. UCRF is a prominent player in the silk industry, the purpose is to carrying out the post-cocoon activities of the Sericulture Department of Uttarakhand.
GUIDED TOUR OF SILK PRODUCTION FACILITIES :
- Silkworm Rearing: Students observed the intricate process of silkworm rearing.
- Silk Extraction: The process emphasizing the delicate and skilled techniques required to silk extraction from cocoons.
- Spinning and Weaving: The spinning of silk yarn and weaving of fabrics by traditional and modern techniques.
- Interaction with Experts: Students had the opportunity to interact with industry experts and artisans, discussing challenges, innovations, and the future of the silk industry.
- Machinery Demonstration: They observed demonstrations of various machinery and equipment used in the production.
