Noted mountaineer from Uttarakhand Harshwanti Bisht has earned the distinction of being elected the first woman president of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF). It was for the first time that a woman was elected as the president of the IMF, which was founded in the year 1958. Bisht, has been honoured with the Arjuna award for her achievements in the field of mountaineering. She was also a member of an expedition team to Mount Everest in 1984.
A motivational talk by Dr. Harshwanti Bisht was held on 18 October 23 at1 PM in the Sansthan auditorium. She inspired the students to work hard in life and that there is no shortcut to success. We should be determined to set our goals and then strive to achieve them against all odds. The students interacted extensively with the guest.
