A Fire Safety Mock Drill was successfully conducted at B.S. Negi MPPS on 17th November 2025 under the
guidance and supervision of the ONGC Fire Service Department. The programme aimed to create awareness
among students and staff regarding fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and proper evacuation
procedures during fire-related incidents.The session began with a brief introduction by the fire service officials,
who highlighted the importance of fire safety in the institute and explained various types of fire hazards that
may occur in day-to-day situations. They also emphasized the significance of remaining calm and following
safety protocols during emergencies.Following the interactive briefing, a live demonstration was carried out in
the institute premises. The ONGC fire officials showcased the correct usage of fire extinguishers, different fire-
fighting techniques, and ways to handle minor fire outbreaks efficiently. Staff members and selected students
were also given the opportunity to practice using the extinguishers under expert supervision.
A mock evacuation drill was then conducted, where students, teachers, and non-teaching staff participated
enthusiastically. The drill helped the student community understand the quickest and safest routes to exit the
building, assemble at the designated safe zone, and respond responsibly during emergencies. The entire activity
was carried out in a disciplined and time-bound manner.
The ONGC team also addressed common misconceptions related to fire accidents and shared valuable tips on
preventing fire incidents at home and in the institute . Their expert guidance and practical demonstration made
the session highly informative and impactful.B.S. Negi MPPS expresses heartfelt gratitude to the ONGC Fire
Service Department for their dedicated efforts in spreading awareness and equipping the institute community
with essential life-saving skills. The mock drill proved to be a significant step toward ensuring the safety and
preparedness of everyone on campus.
