The students of the Sansthan got the opportunity to witness and participate in a documentary film “BHOO KANOON KI MAANG “ - Demand of land laws in Uttarakhand directed by Sh. K.D. Uniyal. The shooting of the film was in Gandhi Park, Dehradun. The students keenly observed the intricate process of shooting a documentary. They observed the director and crew orchestrate various shots and scenes to convey the message effectively.
During certain segments of the documentary, the students actively participated as protestors, portraying the sentiments and demands of the local community regarding land laws in Uttarakhand. This hands-on experience exposed them to the subject matter and understand its need and intensity. Throughout the shoot, the students gained valuable insights into the art and craft of documentary filmmaking. They became aware of the processes of film making - the director’s collaboration with the crew, guidance to the actors, and capturing compelling visuals to convey a powerful message to the audience. They discussed the creative process behind the documentary, asked questions, and received valuable advice on pursuing careers in the film industry.
The visit to witness and participation in the making of a documentary film proved to be an enriching and educational experience for the students. Not only did they gain a deeper understanding of the demand for land laws in Uttarakhand, but they also acquired practical knowledge about the direction and production of documentary films.
