B.S. Negi MPPS celebrated World Creativity and Innovation Day on 21st April with great
enthusiasm and a focus on sustainable innovation. To mark the occasion, a group of students.was taken to witness a special exhibition centered on the theme of upcycling, curated by the
renowned environmental artist and innovator, Mr. Satpal Gandhi.
The exhibition showcased a wide range of imaginative creations made entirely from discarded
and repurposed materials. Mr. Gandhi’s work captivated both students and faculty with its
unique blend of creativity, functionality, and eco-consciousness. Items on display included
intricately designed home decor, furniture pieces, utility items, and sculptures — all crafted
from materials such as old tires, scrap metal, broken electronics, glass bottles, and plastic
waste.
What made the exhibition truly inspiring was not just the final products, but the innovative
techniques employed by Mr. Gandhi in bringing them to life. He demonstrated how creativity,
when combined with purpose, can turn everyday waste into objects of beauty and practical
use. His process involved minimal use of new resources, emphasizing the concept of “waste to
wonder” and promoting the idea that innovation can be sustainable. His exhibition very aptly
titled “Wreckage Wonders”
Students were deeply engaged, interacting with the artist, asking questions, and gaining
insight into how design thinking and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. The
visit served as a powerful learning experience, encouraging young minds to think beyond
conventional approaches and to explore sustainable methods in their future projects and
professional pursuits..
The celebration of World Creativity and Innovation Day at B.S. Negi MPPS was a resounding
success, leaving students inspired and motivated to adopt a more conscious and inventive
mind-set. It highlighted the importance of nurturing creativity not only as a skill but as a tool
for positive change in society.
