B.S. Negi MPPS celebrated Handloom Diwas—“Dhagon Ka Tana
Bana”—on August 28, 2024, with a series of events highlighting the rich
heritage of Indian handlooms. The event was graced by distinguished guests,
including the Chief Guest, Hon. Member
of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Sh. Naresh Bansal. Other notable attendees

The day began with a warm welcome for the esteemed
guests, greeted at the college gate by Heads of Departments and Governing Body
members.
A key highlight of the day was the inauguration of
the NIIT Course, held at the NIIT Bus. This event marked a significant step in
our institution's commitment to providing cutting-edge education and skill
development opportunities for our students. The guests then visited the Display
Hall, showcasing exceptional student work and various institutional projects.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, held in the
auditorium, followed by a beautiful
Ganesh Vandana .
Principal Mrs. Namita Mamgain delivered the welcome
address, emphasizing the institution's achievements and the significance of
Handloom Diwas followed by a short, insightful presentation on the importance
of handlooms, shedding light on their cultural and economic impact.
A Style Show, featuring student designs that
blended traditional handloom fabrics with contemporary fashion, was one of the
event's highlights.

It was a moment of joy and gratitude when Mr. NARESH BANSAL HON’ble MP RAJYA SABHA sanctioned a sum of Rs. 10 lakh for the tin shed work at the Girls Hostel of B S Negi MPPS.
