The
environment provides us with essential resources like clean air, water, food,
and other necessities for life. It supports ecosystems that allow plants,
animals, and humans to thrive. If we neglect to protect the environment, we
risk harming our well-being, undermining society, and endangering countless
species.
B.S. Negi
Mahila Pravidhik Prashikshan Sansthan (MPPS), as an educational institution, is
committed to educating students about creating a sustainable environment. In
line with this mission, a workshop was organized to enlighten students on how
to recycle plastic waste and contribute to environmental protection as
individuals. This workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Social
Development for Communities Foundation (SDC Foundation).
The SDC
Foundation is an environmental action and advocacy group dedicated to
protecting the fragile ecosystem of the Himalayas and promoting sustainable
practices for the well-being of current and future generations. Focused on
environmental conservation, their mission is to positively impact and secure a
safe future for Uttarakhand and beyond.
In addition
to establishing Plastic Banks, the SDC Foundation conducts numerous
capacity-building workshops, awareness campaigns, clean-up drives, and rallies,
particularly targeting students. These activities aim to foster a collective
mindset towards reducing, reusing, and recycling plastic waste.
The
workshop, held on August 23, 2024, in the auditorium of B.S. Negi MPPS, was
organized with the goal of establishing a Plastic Bank at the institute. The

opinions and ideas on how to further this cause. The speaker, Mr. Anoop
