At a design
institute, it is essential to continually motivate students to refine their
skills by providing them with platforms to excel in their craft. Recently, an
excellent opportunity was presented to the Fashion Design students, inviting
them to design costumes using handloom fabrics. This event, titled "The
Handlooms," was open to the entire department, allowing participation from
first-year to final-year students.
The garments
showcased by the students featured a stunning array of both traditional and
contemporary designs, including sarees, kurtas, one-piece dresses, skirts, and
more. The enthusiasm was palpable, particularly among the first-year students,
who walked the ramp with remarkable confidence and style.
Such activities are regularly organized at the institute as they play a crucial role in breaking the barriers of hesitation and self-doubt among the students. These events empower the participants, especially the young women, helping them build the confidence needed to tackle new challenges both during their training and in their future professional careers.
