All the girls came in the session with a little apprehension but also curiosity. We started with the introduction of the facilitator, project Hosla and then the girls followed by setting the norms for circling as 3 rules- make a circle; take a step back with a smile; hold hands and say “ wearehereto accept, love and express.” After that, we did an ice-breaker of giving ourselves a nickname and add an action to it. The girls felt shy and took some time to finally open up. It will good to see how they helped each other through that. It was followed by passing 2 balls in a circle by calling out each other’s nicknames and maintaining the chain. Moving to the warm up and creation, we divided the girls into 2 groups and played passing the ball. The groups were winning alternatively and girls enjoyed it thoroughly. They started opening up and everyone’s nature was becoming more visible. Lastly, we played dog to the bone by naming each other with the colors of rainbow VIBGYOR. Weplayed 6 rounds and thesenseof competition and team support was seen. Wedidn’t get the time to play games for creation and we closed the session by taking feeling check. In all, girls felt happy and light and seemed excited for the next session.
Thegirls seemed apprehensive and confused in the beginning. They were also a little shy to open up but with timeand play, they started opening up and expressing themselves. I observed team work, mutual support, vulnerability, curiosity and excitement.
