A workshop on traditional embroidery techniques was organized at the BS Negi Campus on October 8, 2024. The session highlighted Kathiawari and Gujarati embroidery, alongside Kashmiri embroidery, providing a comprehensive learning experience for the students. An expert with extensive knowledge in these art forms was invited to conduct the session and share insights into the cultural significance and intricate methods of the craft.
The workshop, which lasted for one hour, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 30 students. Each participant had the opportunity to engage in hands-on practice, creating individual embroidery samples under the expert’s guidance. The session also included discussions on the historical background, unique patterns, and color palettes associated with each embroidery style.
The workshop not only enhanced the students’ technical skills but also deepened their appreciation for India’s rich cultural heritage. It was an enriching and inspiring experience, leaving the participants motivated to explore traditional art forms further.
