The Interior Design Department of B.S. Negi MPPS consistently seeks opportunities for students to engage in surveys that provide first-hand experience with various relevant topics from their curriculum.
On November 30, 2024, the department organized a survey led by faculty members to visit the World Integrity Center (WIC), where a photography exhibition focused on birds was presented by an emerging artist. The students not only enjoyed the exhibition but also benefited from a comprehensive tour of the venue. During this tour, the accompanying teachers elaborated on the design scheme, color palette, and intricate details of the exhibition.
After the enriching visit to WIC, the students proceeded to Pacific Mall, where a philanthropic activity was integrated into their tour. They actively participated in a Clothes Donation Drive organized by an NGO by the name of Sri Nityananda Swami Jan Seva Samiti, contributing unused clothing to be distributed among those in need. Following the donation, the students enjoyed an extensive and engaging tour of the mall's service facilities, which included HVAC systems, water supply and drainage, and waste disposal methods. This insightful tour lasted an hour and a half, allowing students to learn first - hand how operations are managed in such a large shopping complex.
As a token of appreciation, Mr. Vinayak Sharma, head of the Sri Nityananda Swami Jan Seva Samiti NGO, rewarded the students with food and game coupons.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both our Principal, Mrs. Namita Mamgain, and Mr. Vinayak Sharma for facilitating this enriching survey experience for the students of the Interior Design Department. It was indeed a very fruitful day as the students covered an art exhibition, a survey of their course curriculum topic and last not the least did an activity which teaches them to be a good human being.
