This year marked the fourth Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, celebrated from 15th November to 26th November 2024 under the auspices of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The celebration honored the invaluable contributions of tribal freedom fighters to India’s independence and highlighted their rich cultural heritage. The event coincided with Constitution Day and was observed with a vibrant tribal festival organized on the college campus.
The festival comprised various engaging activities aimed at fostering awareness and appreciation for India's diverse tribal communities.The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their knowledge, creativity, and admiration for India’s tribal heritage.
Highlights of Activities:
1. Floral Tribute

Venue: Auditorium
The festival commenced with a floral tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a revered tribal leader and freedom fighter. The ceremony was graced by Ms. Madhu Bhatt ,Vice president of the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Literature and Arts Council.as the chief guest. The principal, Mrs. Namita Mamgain, along with students, teachers, and guests, paid homage to Bhagwan Birsa Mund
2. Installing Selfie Points

A creative selfie point featuring Bhagwan Birsa Munda was installed to add a modern touch to the celebrations. Students, faculty, and guests, including Mr. Vinayak Sharma, eagerly participated in capturing memorable moments.
3. Tribal Show
Date: 18.11.2024
Organized by the Fashion Department, the Tribal Show highlighted the traditional attire and lifestyles of India’s tribal communities. Students enthusiastically showcased tribal costumes, offering the audience an insightful glimpse into their cultural richness.
4. Story Writing Competition
Date: 18.11.2024
Conducted by the GT Department, the competition encouraged students to creatively express their thoughts on tribal life through storytelling. The winners were:

5. Plantation Activity
Date: 19.11.2024
A plantation drive was organized, where guests and students planted trees on campus and in their neighborhoods. The activity included a discussion on the importance of afforestation for sustainable development.
6. Short Write-up Competition (Know My Tribe)

Students penned insightful essays on the theme "Know My Tribe," showcasing their understanding of tribal communities. Winners were:

7. Tribal Quiz
Date: 20.11.2024
As part of AICTE activity norms, the quiz centered on the theme “Tribes and India.” PGDCA students demonstrated their knowledge of India’s tribal culture in an engaging and educational session.
The event concluded with a documentary screening on 26th November, encapsulating the essence of India’s tribal heritage. The festival successfully cultivated a deeper appreciation for the contributions and traditions of India’s tribal communities, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved.
