RIWAYAT-E-RESHAM 2.0

Riwayat-e-Resham 2.0, held on 24th September 2025 at the prestigious Hotel Madhuban, Dehradun, was a grand celebration of India's timeless silk heritage and contemporary fashion. Organized under the banner of Silk Mark Expo – 2025, the event brought together artisans, designers, government representatives, and fashion enthusiasts to showcase the elegance, innovation, and cultural richness of resham (silk).The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Sh. Ganesh Joshi, Hon. Minister of Agriculture , Farmers Welfare, Rural development , Guest of honour , Sh Khajan Dass, MLA Rajpur Road, Sh. Anand A D Shukl,Manging Director UCRF, Sh. Pradeep Kumar, Director Resham Vibhag distinguished guests, designers and artisans.

The event was hosted by Directorate of Sericulture and the Uttarakhand Cooperative Resham Federation (UCRF) in proud collaboration with the B. S. Negi Mahila Pravidhik Prashikshan Sansthan (MPPS) Their joint efforts aimed to highlight the importance of silk in rural livelihoods, women empowerment, and sustainable fashion.

The event began with a warm and vibrant welcome by Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Director, Resham Vibhag (Department of Sericulture), setting the tone for an afternoon filled with elegance and artistic brilliance. The honourable guests, who later addressed the gathering, were warmly felicitated with a bouquet of flowers and a shawl. The centerpiece of the event was the runway showcase, named RIWAYAT-E RESHAM, featuring stunning creations by local designers and women artisans and displayed by the vey talented students of B S Negi MPPS. The show displayed a fusion of traditional weaves and modern silhouettes, celebrating silk in all its forms—elegant sarees, Indo- western garments, and accessories.
A curated exhibition of handwoven silk products, live demonstrations of silk weaving techniques, and stalls featuring local crafts provided an immersive experience for attendees.
Riwayat-e-Resham 2.0 was not just an event—it was a movement. A movement to honor the thread that binds tradition with modernity, and creativity with culture. The fashion show- Riwayte Resham was appreciated immensely in all forums , which was another feather in the cap for the students of B S Negi MPPS.
This event was made possible by the unwavering dedication of our Principal, Mrs. Namita Mamgain, whose constant support and encouragement continue to inspire both students and staff to pursue excellence and keep moving forward.
