The ONGC Officers’ Association, Dehradun, organized a noble and inspiring event — the
“Drug-Free Uttarakhand” Walkathon — on 16th September 2025. The aim of this initiative
was to raise awareness among the citizens, especially the youth, about the ill effects of drug
abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle across Uttarakhand.
A contingent of 55 students from B.S. Negi MPPS, accompanied by faculty members,
proudly participated in the walkathon. Their enthusiastic involvement highlighted the active
role of educational institutions in supporting such social causes. The students carried
banners and raised slogans promoting a drug-free lifestyle, reflecting their awareness and
dedication towards building a healthier future.
The walkathon began at 7:00 AM from the ONGC Ambedkar Stadium, following a planned
route of approximately 200 meters, covering ONGC Chowk, Synergy Hospital, ONGC
Hospital, and returning to the starting point.
The walkathon concluded successfully back at the ONGC Ambedkar Stadium with a message
of collective responsibility in fighting drug abuse. The efforts of the ONGC Officers’
Association and the enthusiastic participation from institute like B.S. Negi MPPS were
widely appreciated.
This event not only served as a rallying call for a drug-free Uttarakhand but also fostered a
strong sense of community and purpose among the youth.
