On the 19th of September 2025, The B. S. Negi Sansthan proudly hosted the grand
celebration of the first anniversary of Project “Skill Her”, a flagship initiative under FICCI
FLO aimed at empowering underprivileged girls through skill development and career-
building opportunities.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Smt. Kusum Kandwal, Chairperson
of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Women, and Mrs. Vinod Uniyal, Chairperson of
the Udyamita Parishad. The keynote address was delivered by Mrs. Geeta Khanna,
Chairperson of FICCI FLO Dehradun Chapter, setting the tone for an inspiring and impactful
program.
Mrs. Gigi Pathak and Mrs. Rama Chopra shared insightful details about the journey,
objectives, and achievements of the Skill Her Project, which was launched with the vision of
training underprivileged girls in practical skill sets to help them attain financial
independence and secure a better future.
The Principal of B.S. Negi Sansthan, Mrs. Namita Mamgain, addressed the gathering and
highlighted the work and community impact of the Sansthan. As part of the celebration, a
three-sequence fashion show was presented, showcasing the extraordinary talent and
confidence of the trained girls—most of whom belong to economically weaker sections
(EWS).
The fashion sequences titled “Jaam Tarangi,” “Workoholic: 9-5 Runway,” and “Tash-e-Titli”
were met with thunderous applause as the girls walked the ramp with remarkable poise,
attitude, and flair. The runway truly came alive, reflecting the creativity, spirit, and
transformation brought about by the project.
The program continued with high enthusiasm and energy, as FICCI FLO members took
charge of the remaining proceedings, engaging the audience with a well-curated
celebration. The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony honoring key contributors,
followed by a sumptuous lunch that provided an opportunity for networking and reflection.
The first anniversary celebration of Project “Skill Her” was not just an event—it was a
powerful testimony to how empowerment, opportunity, and collective effort can change
lives.
