Interior design is "the art or process of designing the interior of a room or building often including the exterior. An interior designer is someone who coordinates and manages such projects. This course is an introduction to the field of interior design. Topics of functional and aesthetic elements for residential interiors are covered. Emphasis is placed on: principles and elements of design and the selection and organization of furnishings, floor and wall coverings, window treatments, lighting, and accessories.
